If, however, you are on a large and open map (like Vaux Farmlands) then it will take a hell of a lot of skills, tricks, and proper planning in order to even have a chance at winning (I still have massive trouble with that map and have only been able to beat the expert AI on it maybe 3 times total). If you are on a small map with 2-3 choke points that you are able to take (and especially if they are bridges you can blow up) then your chances of winning are high. Those first two points about the computer may sound extremely. Vickers (especially in buildings), Bofors, and the 6-pounder are your best friends with this. Defend the most important points (gas, victory points, etc.) and keep them with all you got. Do not try to beat the expert AI at his own game though because you will lose. This means that you are going to struggle for the first half of the game until you reach pop cap, at which point you have a good chance at pushing the computer back since extra resources won't mean nearly as much. So while you get 300 starting manpower, the computer gets 500 and while you get 4 starting gas, the computer gets 7. The expert AI gets (roughly) 66% extra starting resources. There is a lot of nuance involved with fighting against the expert AI, but there are a 5 things in particular that you need to know.
